“All Change” – the characters in the final scene of “Change” switch clothes and therefore their image; the play by Wolfgang Bauer will be performed at Kerstin Cmelka's opening by Vienna based artists Manuel Gorkiewicz and Christian Wallner, the writer Hanno Millesi, as well as guests from Hamburg. Bauer coined the term of the micro drama, which reminds of film-typical features considering the shortness and its nearly unconvertible stage directions.
That particular form of drama – simply intended as a text – eluding its performability, subverts the boundaries of theatre. This interest also provides the focus in Kerstin Cmelka's exhibition at the Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof. The short dramatic texts of frequently performed plays – considering their distribution – have gained the popularity of a folk play. Arranged in an installation of video projections, the plays physically direct the viewer through the exhibition space.
Kerstin Cmelka (* 1974 in Mödling, Austria) lives and works in Berlin.
