Friendship Inga Barth, Mona Hermann, Pauline Jacob und Lisa Florentine Schmalz
The second episode of the podcast transfers girlfriendship into the audible space and simultaneously deals with its construction. Inga Barth, Mona Hermann, Pauline Jacob and Lisa Florentine Schmalz sing and talk about being together, about processes of friendship, their spaces and relationships to each other. They reflect on beginnings of connection, iconic Dream Teams and the sounds of friendship.
Inga Barth (*1989) studied Social and Cultural Studies and is engaged both theoretically and practically in sociological, feminist, artistic and cultural-political positions. She worked as a production and dramaturgical assistant for music theater plays and performances in Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main, among other places, and also supervised various radio play projects.
Mona Hermann (*1989) studied fine arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg. In 2019 she received the Hamburger Arbeitsstipendium für bildende Kunst. Her work has been shown in various solo and group exhibitions, including Kunstraum Niederösterreich in Vienna, Kestnergesellschaft in Hanover and KunsthausHamburg. She is also active as a curator, among others with the Trauma Team at the Golden Pudel Club in Hamburg, and the Instagram profile the peephole.
Pauline Jacob works as a singer/performer and music theater producer. She studied classical singing at the HfMT Hamburg and "Applied Theater Sciences" in Gießen until 2014. Her focus is on testing new forms of music theater and the artistic empowerment of (female*) singers* on stage. Thus, she can be seen on stage as a performer (e.g. Junge Deutsche Oper Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, Neuköllner Oper Berlin, Schauspiel Hannover, Staatsoper Stuttgart) on the one hand, and develops free works on the other hand; among them the performances "Vier freundinnenschaftliche Duette" and "Prächtiger Vogel Leierschwanz" or the radio plays "Wir - viele" and "Pamelas Potentiale" (WDR).
Lisa Florentine Schmalz (*1991) works as a soloist in the fields of opera and concert. She has performed as a soloist at classical theaters such as the Theater Kiel, the Theater Bremen, the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the opera stabile of the Hamburgischen Staatsoper and the Junge deutsche Oper Berlin. In addition, she works as a performer at the interface of other performative contexts and in the field of contemporary music theater, such as the Thalia Theater Hamburg, Kampnagel and the Neuköllner Opera. In her work, she seeks an open and contemporary form of classical singing and scenic performance, especially in the field of music theater.
