Moments of Transition: Social Design

Track_11 deals with the question regarding social design. In times of political, social and economic crises, the question of identity and self-realization becomes more important, in review of human needs like vacation trips, love, living and appreciation.

Program

5 PM
Activation Bibliothek für Gesellschaftsdesign

The Bibliothek für Gesellschaftsdesign (library for social design) was developed by the AG Gesellschaftsdesign of Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg, in which students and professors of HFBK think about the political relevance of design.
This library consists of 60 tables and 60 publications. It is not a static institution, rather it should be seen as a temporary exchange platform. The present and contemporary state should be questioned in regard of literary, historical and alternative concepts. The library is in consensus of a permanent process of change: representatives of socially critical design discourses get invited regularly, to exchange books to actualize the inventory.
Within Track_11 and the actual presentation of the Bibliothek für Gesellschaftsdesign in Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof in context of the exhibition "Some Shapes of Things to Come", the following new additions were presented and recommended:
"Save" by JENNIFER BENNETT, "MRX Machine" by Luise Meier, presented by ANJA KÜMMEL and "The Grand Domestic Revolution" by Dolores Hayden, presented by FOKUS GRUPA.
